Resurgence Poetry Prize 2017 - International Ecopoetry Competition Open to All

The Resurgence Prize with The Poetry School is the world’s first major award for ecopoetry. With a first prize of £5,000 for the best single poem embracing ecological themes, the award ranks amongst the most prestigious of any English language single poem competition.

Entry fees
The cost of submission is £7 for the first poem, and £4 per subsequent poem.

• 1st prize: £5,000
• 2nd prize: £2,000
• 3rd prize: £1,000

General Rules

Competition is open to all

These awards are for original and previously unpublished ecopoems in English or any dialect of English. Poems do not need to address a specific theme, but should in some way – thematically, structurally, linguistically or formally – investigate the relationship between human culture and the natural world.
Translations are not eligible.
Poems that have won or which are under consideration in other competitions are not eligible.
A poem’s spoken quality – its suitability for being read and recorded aloud – will form part of the judging criteria.

How to submit entries

Submission will be via the link provided on the organiser's website.  You will need to set up a (free) Submittable account to submit.
Postal entries will not be accepted. This is to minimise the amount of paper involved in the Prize.
You may submit any number of poems.
All poems must by typed, single spaced A4 pages, formatted as PDFs or .doc or .docx Word documents.

Poems should not exceed 54 lines in length.
