The competition will be in two categories
Juniors: Classes 5 to 8
Seniors: Classes 9 to 12
Rules & Regulations
Awards & Certificates : Participation Certificate will be issued to all the contestants. Top nine players (category-wise) will be awarded with trophies / medals and merit certificates.
Last date of Registration : Two days prior to the date of event
Entry Fee : Rs.100/- per participant
Registration : Participants must bring the print out of the admit card (sent to their registered email ID after registration) and the school ID card or bonafide
System of play : The Tournament will be played on Swiss league basis under latest FIDE Rapid Rules. In case of Tie, latest FIDE tie break rules will be applied
Category of students : Juniors – V to VIII Std & Seniors – IX to XII Std
Time control : 30 Minutes for each player Depending upon the participation level, the number of days will be reduced and timings will be altered.
Chess Set : Players must bring their own standard Chess Set
Chess Clock : Players may bring the Chess Clock (if they have)
Tie Break : Buchholz tie break system will be applied
Rights of Admission : The organisers reserve the right to admit or refuse any entry without assigning any reason thereof. Arbiter’s decision is final and binding on all disputes
Disqualification: No participant will leave the venue before the Prize Distribution function without the permission of the Chief Arbiter. The participants disregarding this rule will be suspended for one year.
Interpretation of Rules: For interpretation of rules and discussing any point not covered by the above rules, the decision of the tournament committee will be final and binding to all. The tournament committee has every right to make addition/amendments to these rules, however those rules will be implemented and displayed at the hall.
If a player wishes to withdraw from the tournament, he can do so by giving a letter in writing.
