IIMT- Oxford Brookes University Innovation Challenge 2013

IIMT - Oxford Brookes Innovation Challenge has been instituted in 2010 by IIMT and Oxford Brookes University, UK to create a platform for expression of innovative ideas of young undergraduates in India. The effort is to address the problems faced by India in numerous areas. The effort is to bring out a change at the grass root levels and bring in these ideas to organisations which could adopt these ideas and usher in a change.

Who Can Participate?
Students are requested to check their eligibility for participation in IIMT - Oxford Brookes Innovation Challenge. They must be pursuing one of the relevant courses mentioned below and may be at any level of study in their course.
Pursuing Class XI / XII (any stream) with a CBSE / ICSE / IB / State Govt. / Private School.

Themes for School Students
Students should submit their Abstract / Essay in any one of the topics given under the various Themes. The submission could be accompanied by a video or any program or prototype if you consider appropriate.

The following guidelines must be read and understood by all participants.
  • There can not be more than 4 entries per school from both class XI & Class XII students.
  • The submissions could be individual or in teams of not more than 4 students.
  • A student can be part of only one team.
  • The participating students should not have faced any disciplinary action or failed in any of the term examinations.
  • Though a number of faculty members can guide the students, however, one Faculty Mentor must be clearly identified who will accompany students if invited for presentation.
  • The entries are invited from Indian students from campus based in India.
  • Please ensure that the 'Student Participation Form' is completed, scanned and emailed along with the submission of abstract. Please mention your submission code of the theme at the time of final idea submission. This is compulsory for your submissions to be considered valid for assessment.
  • Entry should not contain any confidential information. IIMT will place content and material in part or in whole on public accessible website or any other media in IIMT's and Oxford Brookes University efforts to promote the event. IIMT and Oxford Brookes University also reserves the right not to post the content and material at all.
  • The work should be original and should not be copied from any source. Entry should not contain the protected works of others.
  • The deadlines and format of submission must be adhered to. Failure to do so may lead to submission not to be considered for the final competition.
  • IIMT and Oxford Brookes University shall not be liable for any late, lost, incomplete, illegible and misdirected entries.
  • The decision of the judges would be final.
  • Submissions can only be sent through email at innovationchallenge@iimtobu.ac.in.
  • All team members and only one Faculty Mentor of the winning teams are entitled to receive the award.
  • The winning team which will be sent to Oxford can be accompanied only by one Faculty Mentor who has guided the team on the idea / prototype.
  • For the national event, IIMT's and Oxford Brookes University shall bear only limited travel costs (tickets from the city of residence/college to city where function will be hosted and back) and overnight accommodation costs. Local candidates would not be reimbursed any conveyance expenses. The local participants shall, at their own cost, make any additional arrangements as may be required by them from the station/airport/bus-station to the hotel and back and bear other expenses for activities related to their participation in the contest.
  • Though a number of faculty members can guide the students, however, only one Faculty Mentor must be clearly identified. IIMT would only pay for the travel (as per the terms explained earlier) for the team along with one faculty member which is invited to the award ceremony.
  • The participants shall maintain adequate insurance coverage or make alternate arrangements for any medical expenses while on travel, whether within or outside India, in connection with this contest.
  • The winning team is expected to make a presentation of their work at Oxford Brookes University, Oxford, UK.
